AASHTO-American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials
The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials is the voice for transportation and catalyst for organizational and technical excellence. ASSHTO advocates transportation related policies and provides technical services to support states in their efforts to efficiently and safely move people and goods.

ACE-Association of Coastal Engineers
The Association of Coastal Engineers is a professional organization dedicated to the advancement of excellence in education, research, and the practice of coastal engineering. The Association recognizes Coastal Engineering as the skills, knowledge, expertise, and theory associated with purposeful engineering intervention in the coastal system. Coastal engineering involves the practice of civil engineering, as well as the sciences of oceanography and coastal geology, to control erosion; design, construct, and monitor coastal structures; nourish beaches; and design and maintain ports, harbors, and related navigational facilities.

ACEC-American Council of Engineering Companies
ACEC is a large federation of 51 state and regional councils representing the great breadth of America's engineering industry. ACEC member firms employ more than 300,000 engineers, architects, land surveyors, scientists, and other specialists, responsible for more than $100 billion of private and public works annually. Member firms range in size from a single registered professional engineer to corporations employing thousands of professionals.

AIME-The American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers
Founded in 1871, AIME was one of the first national engineering societies established in the United States, and along with ASCE (civil), ASME (mechanical), IEEE (electrical), and AIChE (Chemical), it is knows as the Engineering Founder Society. Together, the Founder Societies form the United Engineering Foundation. Just as when it was founded, the goal of AIME today is to advance the knowledge of engineering and the arts and sciences involved in the production and use of minerals, metals, materials and energy resources, while disseminating significant developments in these areas of technology.

AISES-American Indian Science and Engineering Society
The AISES mission is to increase substantially the representation of American Indian and Alaskan Natives in engineering, science and other related technology disciplines. The American Indian Science and Engineering Society was founded in 1977 by American Indian scientists, engineers and educators. In view of the high dropout rates and low college enrollment and graduation rates of American Indians compared with all other ethnic groups in the United States, and the severe under-representation of American Indians in the science and engineering fields, these Native professionals resolved to create an organization that would identify and remove the barriers to academic success for Native students.

APA-American Planning Association
The need for planners to shape a community vision has never been greater. The American Planning Association brings together thousands of people — practicing planners, citizens, elected officials — committed to making great communities happen. APA is a nonprofit public interest and research organization committed to urban, suburban, regional, and rural planning. APA and its professional institute, the American Institute of Certified Planners, advance the art and science of planning to meet the needs of people and society.

APTA-American Public Transportation Association
Founded in 1882, APTA members serve the public interest by providing safe, efficient and economical transit services, and by improving those services to meet national energy, environmental, and financial concerns. Over ninety percent of passengers using transit in the U.S. and Canada are carried by APTA members. APTA members include public bus, rapid transit and commuter rail systems, and the private organizations responsible for planning, designing, constructing, financing, supplying and operating transit systems. In addition, government agencies, metropolitan planning organizations, state departments of transportation, academic institutions, and trade publications are also part of our membership.

APWA-American Public Works Association
Founded in 1937, the American Public Works Association is an international educational and professional association of public agencies, private sector companies, and individuals dedicated to providing high quality public works goods and services.

ASCE-American Society of Civil Engineers
The American Society of Civil Engineers is a professional association founded in 1852 to represent members of the civil engineering profession worldwide. ASCE is the oldest national engineering society in the United States. ASCE’s vision is to have engineers recognized as global leaders striving to build a better quality of life. ASCE headquarters are located in Reston, VA

ASEE-American Society for Engineering Education
ASEE is a non-profit member association founded in 1893. This association is dedicated to promoting and improving engineering and engineering technology education.

ASFE-The Best People On Earth

ASHE-American Society of Highway Engineers
Since 1958, the goal of ASHE has been to provide a forum for members and partners of the highway industry that supports education, innovation, and fellowship; promoting a safe and efficient highway system for mobility now and in the future.

AREMA-American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association
The American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) was formed on October 1, 1997, as the result of a merger of three engineering support associations, namely the American Railway Bridge and Building Association, the American Railway Engineering Association and the Roadmasters and Maintenance of Way Association, along with functions of the Communications and Signal Division of the Association of American Railroads. Its mission is the development and advancement of both technical and practical knowledge and recommended practices pertaining to the design, construction and maintenance of railway infrastructure.

ASLA-American Society of Landscape Architecture
Founded in 1899, the American Society of Landscape Architects is the national professional association representing landscape architects. Beginning with 11 original members, ASLA has grown to more than 18,000 members and 48 chapters, representing all 50 states, US territories, and 42 countries around the world. ASLA promotes the landscape architecture profession and advances the practice through advocacy, education, communication, and fellowship.

AWRA-American Water Resources Association
Founded in 1964, the American Water Resources Association is a non-profit professional association dedicated to the advancement of men and women in water resources management, research, and education. AWRA’s membership is multidisciplinary; its diversity is its hallmark. It is the professional home of a wide variety of water resources experts including engineers, educators, foresters, biologists, ecologists, geographers, managers, regulators, hydrologists and attorneys.

AWWA-American Water Works Association
Founded in 1881, AWWA is the authoritative resource for safe water, providing knowledge, information and advocacy to improve the quality and supply of water in North America and beyond. AWWA advances public health, safety and welfare by uniting the efforts of the full spectrum of the water community. Current membership is over 60,000.

CHI-EPSILON-The National Civil Engineering Honor Society
Dedicated to the purpose of maintaining and promoting the status of civil engineering as an ideal profession, Chi-Epsilon was organized to recognize the characteristics of the individual civil engineer deemed to be fundamental to the successful pursuit of an engineering career, and to aid in the development of those characteristics in the civil engineering student.

ITE-Institute of Transportation Engineers
Founded in 1930, The Institute of Transportation Engineers is an international educational and scientific association of transportation professionals who are responsible for meeting mobility and safety needs. MAES-Society of Mexican American Engineers and Scientists
MAES was founded in 1974 to increase the number of Mexican Americans and other Hispanics in the technical and scientific fields. By projecting the positive image of its members and their accomplishments, MAES helps to improve the perception of Mexican Americans. By providing a networking and nurturing environment, members are able to develop and hone their leadership, communication, management, and technical skills while improving the educational state of America.

NACME-National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering
Since 1974, NACME (the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering) has provided leadership and support for the national effort to increase the representation of successful African American, American Indian and Latino women and men in engineering and technology, math- and science-based careers.

NCPPP-National Council for Public-Private Partnerships
The National Council for Public-Private Partnerships, established in 1985, advocates and facilitates the formation of public-private partnerships at the federal, state and local levels, where appropriate. A Public-Private Partnership is a contractual agreement between a public agency (federal, state or local) and a private sector entity.

NCSEA-National Council of Structural Engineers Associations
The National Council of Structural Engineers Associations (NCSEA) was formed to constantly improve the level of standard of practice of the structural engineering profession throughout the United States, and to provide an identifiable resource for those needing communication with the profession. NCSEA serves the needs of the structural engineering profession.

NSBE-National Society of Black Engineers
The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) non-profit association that is owned and managed by its members. The organization is dedicated to the academic and professional success of African-American engineering students and professionals. NSBE offers its members leadership training, professional development, mentoring opportunities, career placement services and more! NSBE is comprised of more than 270 collegiate, 75 professional and 75 pre-college chapters nationwide and overseas. NSBE is governed by an executive board of college students and professional engineers (Alumni Board only) and is operated by a professional staff in our National Headquarters located in Alexandria, VA.

NSPE-National Society of Professional Engineers
The National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) is the recognized voice and advocate of licensed Professional Engineers. Founded in 1934, NSPE strengthens the engineering profession by promoting engineering licensure and ethics, enhancing the engineer image, advocating and protecting PE’s legal rights at the national and state levels, publishing news of the profession, providing continuing education opportunities, and much more.

NSPS-National Society of Professional Surveyors
NSPS provides the platform by which members can share their thoughts and opinions about our common interests through business meetings /committees, regional groups, and student chapters. It also provides a forum for input from other groups such as the National Association of County Surveyors, members of state boards of registration, and the Forum for State Surveying Society Executives.

SAE-The Society of Afghan Engineers
The Society of Afghan Engineers is a private nonprofit and nonpolitical corporation whose purpose is to foster international support and to encourage financial and technical assistance for the reconstruction and prosperity of Afghanistan. This Society was formed in 1993 by a group of Afghan engineers in Northern Virginia and surrounding areas who believe that they have a moral responsibility to help the grief-stricken people of Afghanistan.

SAME-Society of American Military Engineers
Founded in 1919, SAME is the premier professional engineering association in the United States for connecting architects, engineers and builders in the public sector and private industry, uniting them to improve individual and collective capabilities for national security. Our goal is to unite A/E/C entities and individuals in the public and private sector so that we can prepare for – and overcome – natural and manmade disasters, acts of terrorism and improve security at home and abroad.

SHPE-Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers
The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) was founded in Los Angeles, California, in 1974 by a group of engineers employed by the city of Los Angeles. Their objective was to form a national organization of professional engineers to serve as role models in the Hispanic community. The concept of Networking was the key basis for the organization. SHPE quickly established two student chapters to begin the network that would grow to encompass the nation as well as reach countries outside the United States. Today, SHPE enjoys a strong but independent network of professional and student chapters throughout the nation.

SME-Society for Mining, Metallurgy, & Exploration
The Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration (SME) is an international society of professionals in the minerals industry. The SME membership is more than 11,500 strong, with members in nearly 100 countries.

SMPS-Society for Marketing Professional Services
The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) was created in 1973 by small group of professional services firm leaders who recognized the need to sharpen skills, pool resources, and work together to create business opportunities. Today, the association has a membership of more than 6,100+ marketing and business development professionals from architectural, engineering, planning, interior design, construction, and specialty consulting firms located throughout the United States and Canada.

SPE-Society of Petroleum Engineering
SPE is a professional association whose 73,000-plus members worldwide are engaged in energy resources development and production. SPE is a key resource for technical information related to oil and gas exploration and production and provides services through its publications, meetings, and online.

SWE-The Society of Women Engineers
The Society of Women Engineers (SWE), founded in 1950, is a not-for-profit educational and service organization.
